Dear soul seekers,
How was last week? Were you able to find time to be truly curious about another person and learn something about them?
This week we are looking at the second habit for people with high empathy: challenge your prejudices and find your commonalities. Even though your skin color may be different, or your religious beliefs, or your socioeconomic status, there could still be, and probably are, many things you have in common with others who are different from you.. Finding these similarities makes us realize we aren’t really all that different from each other. We all still struggle with relationships or money or child care or our health or…. You get the point. Rather than focusing on those differences, find what you have in common. This will help you better understand each other and empathize more for others. I believe this is desperately needed right now. We need to overcome our differences and unite together. We are always stronger together than we are when divided.
This week I challenge you to get out and find something in common with someone that you think is different than you. Let’s bridge those gaps.
Until next time,
